Where is Port Everglades located?

Port Everglades is conveniently located for those flying into Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport. The cruise port is only 2 miles from the airport, which equates to an 8-12 minute drive depending on traffic. Miami Airport is approximately 30 miles away and will be a 40-55 minute drive for cruise passengers.

The harbor is the heart of Broward County on the southeast coast of the Florida peninsula. It is also accessible by car, taxi, bus and train. Appropriate identification for persons over 18 years of age, such as a state driver's license or passport, is required and your vehicle may be subject to a search.

Port Everglades has three entrances:

• 17th Street Causeway, located on Eisenhower Boulevard
• State Route 84, located just off US 1
• I-595

The port is easily accessible from I-595, I-95, I-75, US 1 and the Florida Turnpike.

How much is parking at the Port Everglades Cruise Terminal?

The cost of parking at the Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port depends on the duration of your cruise or how long your vehicle will need to be parked. Prices start from the moment you pull out the ticket from the machine when you first enter the parking lot. Fortunately, these prices are much cheaper than airport parking.

Parking prices are listed below:

• $6 up to 5 hours, then $1 per hour after that up to the daily maximum
• $3 for 0-1 hour
• Maximum $19 per day for oversized vehicles (those exceeding the standard width and/or height of the parking space).
• Maximum $15 per day

Parking garage in the port

There are two main parking garages in Port Everglades that offer covered parking.Heron parking garagelocated on the north side of the harbor and used for cruise terminals 2 and 4. Terminal 2 is used by Princess Cruises and Terminal 4 has recently been converted to 2^ndhome to Disney Cruise Line, which was also used by Carnival Cruise Line.

Palm Parking Garageit is located in the southern part of the port and is used for cruise terminals 19, 21, 25, 26 and 29. You should always check with your cruise line in advance which terminal will be used on the day of your cruise and note that sometimes terminals can change even the day of the cruise.

Terminal 29 does not have a dedicated car park, but a free shuttle service will transport passengers from the Palm parking garage directly to the terminal.

Princess cruise ships will generally dock directly outside Cruise Terminal 2 which is used exclusively for Princess Cruises ships. This is in the northern part of the harbor. Princess cruise ships will also often dock at Terminal 4 and Terminal 19. Always check with your cruise line on the day of your cruise which terminal will be used for your cruise.

Holland America's exclusive terminal at Port Everglades is Terminal 26. The parking lot used for this terminal is the Palm Parking Garage which has 1,966 parking spaces and is a short walk to the terminal.

Can you reserve parking at the port?

At this time, you cannot reserve a parking space at Port Everglades or prepay for parking after you book your cruise. But with more than 4,000 parking spaces, that won't be a problem. There are two parking garages on site and several open lots available to cruise passengers.

Does Port Everglades have handicap parking?

Yes absolutely. And in accordance with Florida law, all handicap parking fees will be waived for disabled operators.

So how will you know if you qualify for a parking exemption? You must have one of the following qualifications, according to Port Everglades:

• Display your Florida Toll Exemption Permit
• The vehicle is modified with specialized equipment such as ramps, lifts or foot and hand controls for use by disabled people
• Show a government-issued Disabled Veteran (DV) license plate from any state. The DV license plate must be in the parking lot in the Port Everglades parking lot or garage at the time of your cruise.

All of these off-site parking facilities are located near the port and provide cruise passengers with a more affordable way to keep their vehicles safe and secure while on vacation. Keep in mind that you'll want to allow yourself a little extra time when parking off-site because it's an extra trip. It's an option I often use myself. Just park and let the shuttle take you to the port.

Just 1.2 miles from the cruise port, Park 'N Go offers complimentary shuttle service and outdoor parking for your vehicle.Online rates start at $8.99 per day. It is recommended that you arrive at the car park 20 minutes before you wish to be at the cruise port. The valet will take your car to the open area. The shuttle driver will give you a yellow slip, which you must give to the shuttle driver who picks you up.

3.1 miles from the cruise port, Park by the Ports is located inside the Dania Beach Casino in the northeast corner of the parking lot.Cost is $7.99 per day plus tax. Free transport for up to 4 passengers; each additional is $8.00 per person. Cruise ship port shuttles depart at 7:00am and arrive every 20 minutes from 7am to 9am and every 40 minutes from 9am to 12pm.

Fast and safe parking

This parking option is 1.3 miles from Port Everglades and is located at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Lauderdale 17th Street (1100 SE 17th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316). Shuttle is a vehicle for 14 passengers. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a valet. Be prepared to show your printed booking confirmation and you will be given instructions on where to park. Port Everglades Park and Cruise Hotels

SpringHill Apartments

SpringHill Suites is 5.3 miles from the cruise port. The shuttle service to the port is at 10:40, 12:15 and 13:40. The return service from the port to the hotel is on request and passengers must call the hotel at the time of pick-up. The cost is $15 per person or $35 round trip and is payable directly to the driver.

Quality Inn & Suites

Quality Inn and Suites on Hollywood Blvd. is 8 miles from the cruise port. The shuttle service is offered from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and should be arranged with the reception. The price is included in the price of the package for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Rodeway Inn & Suites

The Rodeway Inn & Suites is 4.5 miles from Port Everglades and offers hotel packages that include parking during your cruise. The shuttle service is available on request from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and must be arranged with the reception for a specific departure time.

Hyatt Place

The Hyatt Place offers one of the closest parking options to the cruise port, just 0.5 miles away. Hotel packages include transportation costs, and the service lasts from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Hilton Garden Inn

The Hilton Garden Inn is 5 miles from Port Everglades and offers a 24-hour shuttle service to and from the hotel. Hotel and parking options are available in various packages, and the shuttle frequency is every hour on the top of the hour.

If you're looking for the absolute cheapest parking options before your Fort Lauderdale cruise, then it's hard to beat a third-party park and cruise company. Note that this will add extra travel time to and from the port, so allow yourself a few extra minutes.
